Apply Online at LIC website from 07.04.2011 to 26.04.2011 only. After the online application is submitted and the candidate has taken print-out of the application form, he/she is advised to retain the application print-out and affix a recent passport size photograph on the appropriate space on it. Application print out is required to be submitted at the time of interview.
Fees : For all candidates (other than SC/ST category) is Rs. 100/-. The application fee shall be paid by cash only at the cash counter during cash hours only of any Branch office of Life Insurance Corporation of India under Account Code 114034.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test


"Central Teacher Eligibility Test Rules, 2011"(CTET).

APPLICABILITY

i). The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
ii). CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
iii). Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

Frequency of conduct of CTET and validity period of CTET certificate:

The CTET is presently being conducted annually. The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years for all categories.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

ELIGIBILITY

The following persons are eligible for appearing in the CTET:-

Minimum Qualifications for Classes I-V:

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education (or its equivalent), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*
Note:
i). Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates.
ii). For this year only, a candidate with BA/B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and B.Ed qualification shall also be eligible for test for classes I to V, provided he/she undergoes, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6–month special program in Elementary Education.

Minimum Qualifications for Classes VI-VIII:

B.A. /B.Sc and passed or appearing in final 2–year Diploma in Elementary Education* (or its equivalent)
OR
B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1–year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)*
OR
B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1–year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)*, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)*
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final 4–year BA/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.)*
OR
B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1–year B.Ed. (Special Education)*
* A diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Note:
Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc./Senior secondary level is admissible for SC/ST and Differently abled Candidates.

How to take the Test

Candidate can choose any ONE of the two options to take the test:

Paper Based Test
or
Computer Based Test

PAPER BASED TEST
Test Date 01 May 2011 (Sunday)
Test Timings 1000-1230 Hrs
Reporting Time at the Test Centre 0900 Hrs
COMPUTER BASED TEST
Test Date 07 May 2011 (Saturday) onwards
Test Timing In different Time slots at specific test venues; subject to number of candidates registering for Computer Based Test.
Test Centre City
  • Test Centre City list is provided in the bulletin. Test Venues for Paper-Based Test and Computer Based Test are different.
  • The Paper-Based Test will take place only on one day i.e., 01 May 2011 at one time slot i.e., 10.00am-12.30pm, whereas the Computer Based Test will take place from 07 May 2011 onwards in different time slots.
  • If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 07 May 2011 itself.
  • If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few in a particular centre, these candidates have to appear for the Paper-Based Test on 01 May 2011 only. • One candidate can appear only for one date for the May 2011 MAT.

List of Participating MIs Four Digit codes for Management Institutes/University Departments accepting the MAT Score are given in the List of Participating Institutes/Universities as MI Code. There are five blocks consisting of four boxes each given in the Form. Fill the codes of those five institutes only where you have applied or are applying for admission.

Important Notice: Applicants are advised to check the approval/recognition status of various programs directly from the concerned Authorities/ Institutes/ Universities. (Note: No additional fee is to be paid for filling these 5 choices.)

Admit Card
  • All provisionally registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test can down load their Admit Card from AIMA website link: www.aima-ind.org/mat_centre.aspx 7 days before the Paper Based test date i.e., with effect from 23 April 2011 (Saturday).
  • Specific Admit Card will be generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test.
  • Admit Card would be having Candidate Name, Form No, Roll NO, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to them in the case of Computer Based Test.
  • Candidates applied for Computer Based Test and who have been permitted to appear for the Computer Based Test; have to down load the Admit Card 7 days before the Paper Based Test date i.e., with effect from 23 April 2011 (Saturday) from AIMA website. Candidates accessing the website the earliest can choose the Date and Time of his/her choice subject to availability. Those who have not opted the date and time slot for 4-5 days; will be automatically allotted date and time slot by the system. No request for change of date and time slot can be entertained.
